Kate Middleton could be attempting to bring on an early labour by indulging in hot, spicy curries, according to new reports today.

Chan and Hash Shingadia have told a British tabloid that they rustled up a spicy dish for the heavily-pregnant Duchess of Cambridge to curb her curry cravings while she's been staying with her parents' home in Bucklebury, Berkshire this week.

Mrs Shingaida said: 'She said she had a craving so I made her a big batch to take away with rice and flatbread.' Expectant mums often indulge in hot Indian food in an attempt to kickstart contractions.

The Duchess of Cambridge's first baby is thought to be due on Saturday, but could arrive any day this week. Phootgraphers and TV crews have been waiting outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington since Monday, 1 July, hoping to catch a glimpse of Kate and William as they enter the hospital and also securing a spot for the all-important first pictures of the new parents and the royal baby once he or she arrives.

Yesterday, amid the news that Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall are also expecting their first child, Buckingham Palace announced that Kate and William's new arrival will be known as His or Her Royal Highness, the Duke or Duchess of Cambridge.

Not long now… we're so excited!
