Generous Johnny Depp spashed out on 500 warm coats for crew members on the set of his new film
Everybody’s favourite pirate Johnny Depp has proved how generous he is by splashing out on warm coats for 500 crew members on the set of his latest flick.
Unlucky production teams working on the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean flick at Pinewood Studios had been hit by a bout of blustery British weather, and suffered chilly winds before the gorgous actor stepped in to help out.
Doing his good deed for the day, Johnny shelled out a whopping £40,000 on waterproof jackets to keep staff on set toastie.
‘Johnny paid out of his own pocket for all 500 of us to have a nice warm waterproof,’ a happy member of the crew told The Sun.
‘It’s a great morale boost and another example of why he is one of the nicest people in Hollywood.’
The waterproof hiking jackets cost Johnny £80 each, coming to a huge total of £40,000.
A couple of weeks ago the Hollywood heartthrob surprised children at a London school by appearing in character as Captain Jack Sparrow after one pupil wrote to him.
