The star’s hairdresser, Mark Townsend, reveals what prompted Jennifer to cut off her long locks

Jennifer Lawrence showed the beauty world what for when she hit the GLAAD award red carpet on Sunday night showcasing a new short hairstyle. Long gone were her long blonde locks and in their place was a new textured bob a move that was made very last minute according to her hairdresser.

Mark Townsend who regularly tends to Jennifer Lawrence’s tresses reveals it was the actress who dictated the new ‘do, arriving an hour before she was to walk the red carpet and requesting he ‘cut it all off.’

And that he did, transforming the Oscar-winner’s hair in moments! Although it took some convincing, Mark asked his client if she was actually allowed to cut her hair – particularly because her character Katniss, in The Hunger Games sports long brown waves.

But Jennifer Lawrence clearly is a girl who won’t be dictated to as she made the call saying ‘It’s my hair!’

And as proof that she also knows what she wants Mark Townsend added that he lost count of the number of times the star said she ‘loved it’.
