The 31-year-old actress - who recently cut off her long hair into a short pixie crop to play the role of Fantine in musical Les Miserables - was spotted enjoying a dinner with her partner and their close family and friends in New York when the surprise announcement was made.

A source told RadarOnline.com: 'Not only did Anne and Adam have their parents at dinner with them, which is unusual, but the amount of enthusiasm and excitement made it clear that they were celebrating some major news.
'While everyone else sipped on wine at dinner, Anne didn't drink any alcohol, which is an indication that she could be pregnant.'

If she is, it could be the high of what's been an exciting year for Anne - not only is she appearing as Catwoman in Dark Knight Rises but her other big flick Les Miserables is one of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2012.
