How Kate Middleton Is Planning Her First Australian Tour Around Prince George

Kate Middleton’s first royal tour of Australia and New Zealand is taking shape, as Prince William begins his first week at Cambridge University.

Although Clarence House has yet to confirm details of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s visit Down Under, details are flooding in from Sydney sources.

Exciting.

Prince George is expected to join Kate and Wills on the visit in April, which is thought to mirror the trip made by the Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1983. But in a break from royal tradition, baby George is said to be travelling alongside his parents – despite royal protocol not permitting two immediate heirs to the throne to fly together.

According to local reports, Kate and Wills are looking to secure a Sydney-based accommodation so that Prince George can be looked after while they complete a busy itinerary.

‘We have been told that Sydney will be the base but I don’t know how extensively they will be traveling,’ an insider told the Sydney Morning Herald.

‘We are assuming that Prince George will be coming. That is what we are gearing up for.’

That said, even if George does make his first trip overseas, it’s unlikely he will be seen much in public. Just as Prince Charles and Diana did when taking William to Australia, Kate and Wills will most likely only allow their son to be seen once or twice.
