It's very different to his version of the story...

It's safe to say that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are one of the hottest celebrity pairings of the moment. Having been together for a year and a half now, they've caught the world's attention with their cute red carpet appearances together and adorable stories about their home life.

According to Zayn Malik, the two met in November 2015 at a Victoria's Secret Show after party in New York. He told ES Magazine that he approached her, recognising her from her picture, and that they had their first date that week.

However, according to Gigi, that's not quite how things went down between them; the supermodel made her first appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last week, and revealed that the two had actually met before that party.

'We actually met at a friend's birthday party a few year's ago' she told Ellen. At the time, Zayn was engaged to Little Mix member Perrie Edwards, while Gigi was probably seeing Cody Simpson, who she dated on-and-off for two years until May 2015.

Gigi then made sure that their paths crossed again in 2015, once she knew that both of them were single. 'He was in New York to come to the Victoria's Secret show last year, I think, and ended up not coming. And I was like, "I'll play it cool." Like, "I'll go to the after party..." He wasn't there. And then like later that week we ended up going on our first date.

'We played it cool for like ten minutes and then I was like, "You're really cute." We connected like, really quickly, and just... we had the kind of same sense of humour and [started] sharing videos...'

And here they are a year and a half later, the romance still going strong.

We love you, Zigi.
