She made a splash with her guest appearance on the judging panel in 2010 but now it's been revealed that former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell could be a permanent X Factor judge when the show hits ITV1 screens later this year.
The 39-year-old singer will join fellow female singer Tulisa Contostavlos on the panel, as well as head judge Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh at the auditions in Liverpool today and show bosses say that if she does well, the job could be hers for good.
Sources say that today's slot as a judge in the Liverpool X Factor auditions is a 'trial run' for a permanent position on the show.
A senior show source told The Sun: 'Geri is not just a guest judge — she is our judge-in-waiting…We’re not talking to anyone else.'
Geri Halliwell will replace former Marie Claire cover star Kelly Rowland who was on the panel for 2011 but declined to return this year.
It won't be Geri Halliwell's first time in the judging hottest - she stood in for a pregnant Dannii Minogue in the Glasgow auditions back in 2010 and Geri was also a judge on the ITV series Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 - giving the thumbs up to Cheryl Cole and before Girls Aloud was born.

Geri is now said to be 'bursting' with excitement at the prospect of becoming a permanent X Factor judge. And well she might be - if she's offered the job, she could net a £400,000 contract.
We'll be crossing our fingers for Geri Halliwell today in Liverpool!
If she gets the gig, she'll be joining returning Xtra Factor presenters Caroline Flack and Olly Murs - but Caroline is covering the audition stage on her own while Olly Murs, 28 is off touring the US with One Direction (alright for some….).
