The lucky Take That singer will take Simon Cowell’s place on the panel
With American X Factor auditions in full swing, bosses in the Britain have turned their attentions to replacing judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole on the UK version of the show. And the first celebrity appointment? Take That star Gary Barlow.
Rumours first hit earlier this year that Gary could take up a place on the UK version of the famous show.
But after months of suspense, it was only yesterday that Simon Cowell confirmed the singer would definitely take up a place on the famous judging panel.
Arriving at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, for the first round of US auditions the music mogul said simply: ‘Gary Barlow is the first person confirmed.’
Simon refused to confirm who would be drafted in to replace popstrel Cheryl Cole on the judging panel, although some are suggesting ITV bosses currently favour ex-mystique singer and Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon for the job.
As yet, an official spokesman has yet to comment on the news.
Cheeky Mr Cowell also revealed that both Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue are have not yet signed contracts to appear on the 2011 show, but kept quiet on when the news would be announced.
