Speaking out about his worldwide fame Rob – who’s currently promoting new circus flick, Water for Elephants – revealed he tries not to get too caught up in LA life.
‘I came to a point where I said: I'm going to be a professional actor, looking for the origins of my characters, making something real out of this ephemeral job,’ he said, in the Italian interview. ‘I try to not fall in the web of top class hotels, first-class flights, designers sending you tons of stuff, thousands of girls everywhere.’
The British actor was also happy to open up on love scenes with leading leady Reese Witherspoonin his upcoming flick, and revealed he’s quite a romantic soul at heart.
‘I’m not mushy but I have a romantic soul’ he said. ‘Having grown up with two older sisters I have a deep respect for women. Sex and feeling for me go hand in hand.’

Hinting at his rumoured relationship with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, he continued: ‘This is me, just me. I’m not interested in casual relationships, I need to know people. I’m not making an existential statement here: simply, I want a family, with two or three kids…’
But on the subject of romance, Rob’s keeping firmly quiet.
‘My private life is off-limit,’ he said. ‘I don't talk about my relationships with female friends, not to mention how I don't talk about my relationship with Kristen Stewart, an actress I admire because she's a real person, and a real actress,’ he said, adding: ‘It was the chemistry I had with her helped me to get my role in Twilight.’
Speaking of his love of animals – and how he fell in love with elephant Tai on the set of his upcoming flick, he added: ‘I really wish I could talk to animals more than to people who think they know me just from my movies.’
Last week, it was confirmed Rob will definitely be attending the UK premiere of Water For Elephants, set to be held in London, on May 3.
The actor will join fellow stars Reese Witherspoon, Christoph Waltz and director Francis Lawrence at the star-studded event, at Westfield's Vue cinema.
