With the Harry Potter franchise firmly behind her, Emma Watson’s been hard at work on a brand new venture - movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Em has been connected the teen flick since last summer, but the movie only gained funding from Twilight franchise owners Summit Entertainment, earlier this year.

Which explains the long wait for the first sneak peek of the actress in her first post-Hermione role.

Starring alongside a sparkling cast, which includes Logan Lehrman, Paul Rudd and Miss Watson's reported beau Johnny Simmons, Emma plays Sam in the Stephen Chbosky-directed coming-of-age story, about an introverted student.

But don't think this is just Harry Potter without the magic - the hard-hitting tale hits on themes such as teenage sexuality, abuse, and the struggles of adolescence.
