Fifty Shades of Grey author E L James has had an incredible year – not only has she become one of the world's most famous writers, but she's been partying with Robert Pattinson at his house – and has become a multimillionaire in a matter of months.
Accounts filed by Fifty Shades Ltd, the company owned by the author and her husband, show that they made a net profit of £10.7m in its first six months of operating. The couple set up the company in February 2012 to handle the income from the racy novels.
The Telegraph reports that E L James and her husband Niall Leonard still live in their £350,000 West London home and that the only splurge they've made since their newfound fame is a new car. They have also reportedly donated more than £1.1m to charity.
The paper reports that the couple paid themselves £355,000 last year, proving that the mummy porn business is lucrative enough to support their family after all.
Last week it was announced that Sam Taylor-Johnson will direct the Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation. E L James has fuelled further rumours that Robert Pattinson is in the running to play Christian Grey as she was seen attending his house party in LA over the weekend.
