  • Emma Watson has has been named the UN's newest Goodwill Ambassador. Not bad for her first job out of uni...

Emma Watson has just landed her first job after university and it’s pretty amazing. We thought the young actress couldn’t possibly get anymore fabulous. We were wrong.

Emma’s just been named the Goodwill Ambassador for the UN’s gender-equality arm, UN Women. Just a month after she graduated from Brown University in the US, she’s landed the humanitarian gig and will be working on a gender equality campaign HeForShe.

Following in Angelina Jolie’s footsteps as a Goodwill Ambassador, the starlet said:

‘Being asked to serve as UN Women’s Goodwill Ambassador is truly humbling. The chance to make a real difference is not an opportunity that everyone is given and is one I have no intention of taking lightly. Women’s rights are something so inextricably linked with who I am, so deeply personal and rooted in my life that I can’t imagine an opportunity more exciting,’ Emma said.

The Hollywood starlet who has been on such a high recently has been keeping one foot on the ground as she starts her new role.

‘I still have so much to learn, but as I progress I hope to bring more of my individual knowledge, experience and awareness to this role.’

Not bad for a first job out of Uni. (Aside from her mammoth acting career, of course). We’re glad to see she’ll be putting her intellect as well as her global influence to good use.
