Move aside Bradley Cooper, the award for Sexiest Man Alive now belongs to Channing Tatum

Idris Elba? Ryan Gosling? No way. The hottest man on the planet is, drum roll please, Channing Tatum.

In a highly, highly scientific poll by People magazine, the Magic Mike actor has been crowned Sexiest Man Alive for 2012.

The 32-year-old snatched the coveted title from Hangover heartthrob Bradley Cooper, but has been rather humble about the award.

Channing, who has been married to model and actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum for three years, reveals: 'My first thought was, ‘Y’all messing with me’.

'I told Jenna after we’d been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they’d gotten skunked.

She was like, ‘What?’ Yeah, she calls me the Sexiest Man Alive now.'

The Alabama native then went on to talk about being ready to have children: 'I’m ready. I think she’s ready,' he revealed.

'The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we’ll see where we go after that.

'It’s really easy for us guys to say, ’I want like 15 kids.’ Jenna will be like, ’Well, you better get another wife!’'

Jenna added: 'People know him to be fun and sexy, but they don’t know how emotionally deep and spiritually open he is. He is such an open-hearted person; what you see is what you get.'
