Itll be ladies' night at the Brits next month as the girls lead nominations
The nominees have been announced, and it looks as though it'll be ladies night at the Brit Awards next month.
Leona Lewis, Lily Allen, Pixie Lott and Florence & the Machine lead the way in the Best Female Solo Artist category.
Both Pixie and Florence were nominated again for British Brakethrough Act, while the boys category was dominated by Robbie Williams, Paulo Nutini and Calvin Harris.
Meanwhile Cheryl Cole, nominated in just one category, will go up against X Factor protégés Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry for Best British Single.
The nominees were formally announced at the O2 arena yesterday night.
Noticeably absent from the honours list, however, was lovely lady Susan Boyle, who has achieved worldwide success overnight.

'The problem for the Brits is they're supposed to be a celebration of British music - and cool,' said one insider.
‘And, whatever anyone thinks of Susan Boyle, she certainly isn't cool,'
Winners will be announced at the award ceremony at Earl's Court on 16th February.
