The pair have decided to call time on their four-year relationship after ‘growing apart’
Ex-Westlife star Brian McFadden and his fiancée Delta Goodrem have called time on their four-year union, and ‘mutually decided to end their relationship,’ according to reports today.
A spokesman for the pair confirmed their split a statement, which was also published in Australian newspaper, Herald Sun.
The message reveals the couple parted ways after ‘a lot of soul searching,’ adding that they had simply grown apart.
‘Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden regretfully announce that they are no longer engaged, and after much consideration, have mutually decided to end their relationship,’ the statement read.
‘This decision has been made with a lot of soul searching from both parties with the realisation that they have grown apart. They leave the partnership with respect for one and other, wishing each other success and happiness for the future.
‘Delta and Brian appreciate there will be interest regarding this announcement but request that their time together is respected and they are given privacy during this time of transition.’
The pair first met back in 2004 after recording duet Almost here, and got together in 2007, when Brian’s split from first wife, Kerry Katona.
In recent years, the couple have split their time between New York and Australia, where Brian is a judge on Australia’s Got Talent, and have reportedly spend less and less time together.
When news of the split was announced, Brian Tweeted thanks to his former fiancé, asking for support from fans.
‘I love Delta and always will. She is one of God’s living angels. I thank her for giving me the best years of my life. Please give us time x’ he wrote.
