Seriously considering changing my name to Emily Nelson, tbh
Steel yourselves Blake Lively fans – the Gossip Girl star has just deleted her entire Instagram. The sudden move came yesterday evening after an eerie set of images were posted to the account and suffice to say, people are losing their minds.
If you go onto Blake’s Instagram account right now, all you’ll see is a completely blank feed with nary a glam profile pic in sight. Her bio has also been completely changed and simply reads, ‘What happened to Emily?…’. Keen eyed social media users also spotted that the account now only follows 27 people – all women called Emily Nelson.
I’m so confused why is Blake Lively’s entire Instagram deleted and now she only follows girls named Emily Nelson pic.twitter.com/p2PuPLtLBw

Before the account vanished, Blake posted a set of images in which she appeared to be playing hangman. The final picture was the fully completed game which read ‘What Happened to Emily?’ with a dark illustration of a woman with a bow in her hair hanging from a tree. She captioned it with just a black heart, because she apparently loves the drama.

While at first people speculated that the star had been hacked, it actually seems to be a PR stunt for her upcoming mystery thriller A Simple Favor. It’s very much in keeping tone with what we know of the film so far, as Blake plays a woman named Emily (presumably with the last name Nelson) who suddenly goes missing.

The Paul Feig film revolves around her best friend Anna Kendrick’s journey to find her and will be released September 21 this year in the UK.
If you still want your Blake social media fix, her Twitter account is still up and running – though who knows for how long. Here’s hoping that all of her glam Instagram pictures are just sitting happily in her archived posts and not completely lost forever.
