Beyonce 'couldn't wait to tell the world' about her pregnancy

The thrilled mum-to-be just couldn't keep the news a secret any longer

She may have been planning on keeping her baby news a secret for a little while longer, but thrilled mum-to-be Beyonce was so excited about her pregnancy she just 'couldn't hold it in.'

The blooming star spilled the beans to press and fans at the MTV VMAs on Sunday, arriving with a tiny baby bump, and telling reporters: 'I have a surprise!'

Now friends have said the starlet, who's thought to be almost four months along was meant to be keeping the news quiet for a few more weeks, but just 'couldn't wait to tell the world,' about her pregnancy.

'She's close to four months along,' one insider told American magazine Us Weekly of the usually private singer. 

'She wasn't going to announce it but she is so excited she couldn't hold it in.'

The source added: 'They barely told anyone...They kept it really secret until they were sure, and now she simply couldn't wait to tell the world!'

Insiders say first-time dad Jay-Z is 'over the moon' about Bey's pregnancy, and could hardly hide his smiles as he watched his wife perform on stage at the prestigious music awards show.

'Jay is ecstatic and over the moon,' a pal of the power pair added. 'He really wanted this so badly.'

Already Bey's baby news is having an impact on Hollywood, with Clint Eastwood agreeing to push back his upcoming A Star is Born movie to accommodate the star.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z is said to be assessing his upcoming tour dates, to make sure he's at home when Beyonce needs him most.

'They will have to make adjustments,' the insider admitted, 'but this is worth it!'
