Better after the break-up: How celebs like Robert Pattinson channel the 'breakover' effect

In the case of the ex-files, whilst some seek solace in the bottom of a tub of Ben & Jerry’s (my personal tack), there’s the other camp that pick themselves up and pick up the hotline straight to their glam squad – a phenomenon otherwise known as the ‘breakover’.

Take Robert Pattinson, (don’t mind if we do). Is it just us here at MC HQ or is he looking hotter than ever post-Kristen Stewart? In his recent appearance on the Daily Show, the razor sharp Gucci suit, that beard, the slicked-back locks... (you may need to give us a minute). The point being that he looked goooood – better even.

And it’s not just the boys who do celebrity breakovers with aplomb – look at Kate Winslet, Jennifer Lopez, Mila Kunis and Katie Holmes – every one of them have demonstrated a bit of of bye bye love, hello hottie. The question is: how?

Whether it’s a case of plundering the beauty halls and slapping on a brave face as a big two fingers up to their ex, or, in the case of my BF, being released from the evil clutches of someone who quashes their fabulousness, the end result is quite simply easier on the eye (let’s face it - there’s nothing like a heartbreak diet to shift those extra pounds).

Whatever it is, we suggest Rob carries on doing it – as they say; revenge is sweet so don’t get mad, get even hotter.
