It's been a long two years

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are now officially single, two years after they filed for a divorce in 2016.

The former couple are finalising their lengthy divorce settlement, but in the meantime a judge has ruled the pair are single in a legal move known as bifurcation.

Bifurcation is a move that allows both parties to have a ‘single’ status while continuing with divorce proceedings, rather than remain to be legally bound as they have been these past few years.

But Brangelina vow to stay focused on their children Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12 and twins Vivienne and Knox, both 10, despite parting ways.

A source told People: 'Both parents are focused on what’s best for the kids.'

Angelina originally filed for primary physical custody of their six children, but little is known about the now resolved disputes.

It was previously reported while Angelina Jolie currently looks after the children, Brad will eventually get 50-50 joint custody.

Brad and Angelina met in 2005 when they were filming Mr and Mrs Smith.

Just nine years later and the A-list couple took the next step in their relationship and tied the knot.

But two years after their marriage they decided to part ways and filed for a divorce, and cited irreconcilable differences.

Our thoughts are with Angelina and Brad.
