Arctic Monkey Alex Turner writes love song for Alexa Chung
Oh, to be Alexa Chung. Not only does the stylista have the most enviable wardrobe on TV, now she's the subject of her very own love song, written by Arctic Monkey boyfriend, Alex Turner.
The 23-year-old singer penned Fire And The Thud about their relationship, which will appear on new album, Humbug.
Speaking to Mojo, he opened up, 'It's the most honest song on the record, some songs are disguises for one little thing that you want to say, just to tell someone something.'
He added, 'Others are more constructed, formulaic and traditional. Show-offy. Whereas Fire And The Thud is not as considered. Visceral. Is that the right word?'
Turner penned the heartfelt ode on learning that Chung had been offered a job in New York. The lyrics include the lines, 'If it's true you're gonna run away/ Tell me where, I'll meet you there."
And later: 'The day after you stole my heart/Everything I touched told me/It would be better shared with you.'
