Adele will wrap up awards season by singing at the Academy Awards next month
Adele hasn’t performed live in almost a year but she’s most certainly coming back with a bang as she confirms she’ll perform at the Oscars in February.
And that’s not all, she’s also been nominated in the best original song category at the Academy Awards, for the James Bond theme, Skyfall. Having already nabbed a Golden Globe earlier this year, she’s on course for a celebratory few months.
In an official statement, the new mum announced her involvement at the prestigious award ceremony saying: ‘It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once!
‘It’s an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again.’
Of course, Adele isn’t the only happy one, the Academy Awards’ official Twitter feed posted their excitement saying: ‘Best 4 Words Ever: Adele Performing At #Oscars.’
The last time we were treated to the singer’s vocal talents during a live performance was at the BRIT Awards 2012, and we can be pretty certain that it will be worth the wait.
The Academy Awards take place on 24 February and will also mark Adele’s debut performance of Skyfall.
