Ditching the long tumbling locks that became her signature as she shot to fame as Heroes' Claire, the actress debuted a nape-grazing slicked-back new look, as she attended an Earth Day benefit in LA.

Something of a hair chameleon, Panettiere has dabbled in a spectrum of hair colours, shifting from platinum blonde to chocolate brown and brassy tones of auburn, but this is the shortest she's ever dared to go.
