It's time for the glitz and glamour of Cannes to hit us again. So to get us in the mood, here's a run down of our favourite hair and make-up looks from days gone by.
Natalie Portman (2005)
Let’s just take a minute to fathom how a woman can shave her head and still manage to look this good. No, it doesn’t make sense to use either. The heavy dose of metallic rose gold eyeshadow, pulled out into a winged shape is amazing and when you have skin that glowing, who needs hair anyway?
Penelope Cruz (2005)
Hola beauty! S-waves with charcoal eyes and a slash of red lipstick screams sexy señorita and it’s so nice to see Pen harking back to her Spanish roots.
Kirsten Dunst (2006)
We love Kirsten as a red head à la Marie Antoinette and even more so when it's twisted into Heidi plaits and pinned atop her head. Minimal, peachy make-up plays the utimate supporting role, too.

Naomi Campbell (2007)
So sleek, so understated, so un-Naomi! This is the perfect fringe length for her as it glances off her brows and frames that incredible bone structure. Mega lashes and a powdery jet-black eye make it all the more striking.
Madonna (2008)
Madge must have gone through three mascaras to get those eyes the size of saucers and we’ve never seen such oversized liquid liner flicks. Peroxide waves aren't the most obvious anti-ager and usually we'd say to stay well clear but she looks super fresh and youthful.
Cheryl Cole (2010)
Not since ‘The Rachel’ has there been cut that made us all chop our hair off at mid-length without a second thought. The nanosecond Cheryl swapped her extensions for this copper highlighted wavy 'do, she left the WAG tag way behind her.
Rachel McAdams (2011)
It doesn’t get any more high-octane glamour than gold smoky eyes, full red lips and sky high hair. It’s beauty firing on all cylinders and we love it!
Marion Cotillard (2012)
Check out that precision blue eyeliner that's just a bit more 'notice me' than black. The Hepburn-esque bun is bigger than her head but it’s oh-so elegant and the delicate jewelled band sets it off a treat. Inspiration for brides perhaps?
Diane Kruger (2012)
Nice to see that big hair doesn’t rule them all. Diane’s super fine hair twisted and left to fall naturally is just as strong a red carpet look as the biggest of bouffants. Also, can someone tell us which blusher she uses please? That subtle tawny shading along her cheekbones might give us angles like that too!
Carey Mulligan (2013)
The trademark porcelain skin could make this Brit beauty look super fragile, but the slicked back blonde mane and stamp of red lippy says otherwise. Hands down the best beauty look we’ve seen Carey sport so far.
Blake Lively (2014)
If ever there was a time to up your glamour stakes, Cannes Film Festival is it and Blake took full advantage of this fact. Her sleek hair was pulled back into the most exquisite bun that had us thinking of a modern day Princess Grace.
Sienna Miller (2015)
Here's proof that even short hair can be woven into a beautifully intricate hairstyle. Everything Sienna did this night was on point - the hair, the flawless complexion, the lip. Oh, to be her!
