From the office to the gym, it's all good
Not only has ‘athleisure’ infiltrated the fashion lexicon, you can now find it in the Merriam-Webster dictionary (Countdown fans and scrabble aficionados take note). Yep, performance-wear as everyday-wear is officially de rigueur. Whether you have actually worked out is, joyfully, irrelevant – Lycra is (generally) considered office-appropriate and you’re more likely to catch fashion editors on the front in a pair of box fresh Stan Smiths than killer heels.
The poster-girls for the trend are the street style doyennes – Veronika Heilbrunner, Karlie Kloss, Hailey Baldwin et al. – and they provide endless inspiration on how to style out sportswear, whether you’re sipping a post-spin class protein shake, or meeting friends for a glass of Rosé the sun. Don’t forget to check out our Black Friday trainer deals, if you’re looking for a place to start.
