Designer outlets are a brilliant way to get your hands on some serious designer, or high street gear, at a fraction of the price. Yes, it might not be totally new season but it will be pretty gorgeous nonetheless. And most outlets have lovely coffee shops too. Winning.
The One That Stocks Céline...
Bicester Village has loads of amazing brands – Chloé, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen are all there. If that's not exciting, we don’t know what is! It also has a lovely outside seating area, plus a very luxurious chauffer service from airports and central London locations - all in all, everything you need for a pretty special day.
The Newbie One...
The London Designer Outlet opened last year and has just had its millionth customer, so they must be doing something right. It has over 70 stores (and apparently more opening shortly), nine cinema screens and lots of foodie places to refuel.
The Make A Weekend Of It One...
Set in the Somerset Village of Street, Clarks Village is home to 90 brands – ranging from Whistles to North Face. It's super easy to navigate and has a calm tranquil feel to it. Make a weekend of it and stay a night at nearby Babington House for a real treat… you’ll be saving so much on your shopping that you’ll have enough for it.
The One If You Love A High Street Bargain...
Another picturesque location, Gloucester Quays is housed in super-cool Victorian warehouses nestled in the marina. This is your go to place for the likes of LK Bennett, Gap and All Saints. There's a cinema here too – what is it about shopping and cinemas that goes so well together?
The One That's Everywhere...
McArthurGlen has six outlets across the UK and another 14 internationally, in glamourous locations such as Rome and Berlin. They have a brilliant mix of proper high end designer gear in their Luxury Quarter – Armani, Burberry and Hugo Boss anyone? - alongside brilliant mid-market and high street brands such as The Kooples and Reiss. The biggest flagship store is in Cheshire.
Make some space in your wardrobe and get ready to feel satisfyingly smug when you fill it with fashion treats that haven't totally spanking your bank account. Go shop, you know you want too!
