Bridget has totally owned being single at Christmas - for the fifth year in a row
Single at Christmas? Tired of being asked why you’re single at Christmas? Well, one woman has come up with a pretty clever way of getting through the festive season without a significant other and we should definitely all take note.
Bridget is now the only single person in her family of five children, and therefore the only child left in her parents’ family Christmas card. So they cut her out. Unphased by this, Bridget started making her own Christmas cards five years ago and they are kind of amazing.
Her split from the family Christmas card was actually rather amicable, too. Bridget's brother explains, 'Her parents didn’t “kick her out” due to disappointment with her failure to marry or have children (like much of the Internet believes). Rather, after the 2009 card went out with everyone showcasing their hobbies (violin playing, knife skills, balloon hats, and cooking all made an appearance), the family decided to part ways for future cards since it ended up so unintentionally awkward, especially since Bridget’s only hobby appeared to be drinking.'
2010: 'Happy holidays! Love Bridget. Just Bridget.'
Bridget’s brother posted her first Christmas card from 2010 online saying, ‘I have four sisters. Me and three of my sisters are married. Bridget is not. My parents decided it would be awkward to have a Christmas card with just one daughter in it, so they cut Bridget out of their Christmas card (the married siblings all do their own. except me. I'm lazy) So Bridget decided to send her own Christmas cards.’
Ever since then, Bridget has continued sending out her own cards. Photos have ranged from multiple versions of her photoshopped around a dining table, to this year's one featuring her posing with a chicken. Here they are in all their glory, in chronological order:

Her brother-in-law fully supports her yearly Christmas card and says, ‘Our only hope is that she never gets married so this can continue forever.’
