Marie Claire joined Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher as they launched Gemfields’ latest campaign in London. Find out what happened

Mila Kunis paired style with plenty of substance last night as she joined Marie Claire at the launch of ethically-sourced jewellery brand Gemfields’ latest launch in London. Stood supportively by her side was the star’s boyfriend, Ashton Kutcher, which was a rare and rather sweet move considering the couple avoid any attention on their relationship.

Marie Claire was greeted at Phillip’s Gallery with sumptuous Ketel One Vodka cocktails and enormous, but elegant, images of Mila Kunis wearing Zambian emeralds and Mozambiquan rubies.

These soon came to life as the star herself walked through the doors giving us all a lesson in masculine tailoring clad in a black trouser suit by Antonio Berardi complete with a cropped jacket and her impossibly shiny hair glistening in the spotlight.

But it wasn’t all about celebrity guests last night, we witnessed Mila listening attentively as Gemfields CEO Ian Harebottle introduced the latest pieces before she was engulfed in a swarm of flashbulbs.

Mila and Ashton put rumours of relationship troubles firmly in their place, as we saw a softer side to Mila who cheekily gave Ashton’s bottom a little pinch before the pair did a circuit of the room.

What struck Marie Claire was how willing Ashton was to let Mila be the focus of the event, carefully stepping back to allow the swarms of partygoers to get closer to the star. He also happily chatted to agents and the event organisers while having bright lights and cameras around him at almost every angle.

When we weren’t observing just how chic the Marie Claire cover star is, we watched a Gemfields video showing Mila’s visit to Zambia, as she spoke with locals, traveled around on a motorbike and got actively involved in mining for ethically-sourced jewels.
