Here’s the ticket situation at Michelle Obama’s London talk

Tell us EVERYTHING.

She might not live in the White House anymore, but that hasn’t stopped Former First Lady Michelle Obama inspiring us on the regular.

In fact, she’s the go-to girl when it comes to pep talks.

It’s hardly surprising therefore that when it was announced that the 54-year-old was touring to celebrate her new memoir, Becoming, with award-winning novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, tickets were hard to come by.

The 13-night tour starts next week in her hometown of Chicago, where she will sit on-stage with Oprah Winfrey, before going on to tour other cities – even London.

Yes, Michelle Obama is coming to London and everyone is very excited, with the former First Lady reported to be discussing everything from her childhood and motherhood to ‘her time spent at the world’s most famous address‘.

Her London appearance will take place on 3 December at the Royal Festival Hall, with only 2,900 tickets available.

Surprise surprise, it sold out in seconds, with tens of thousands of fans taking to Twitter to voice their disappointment.

‘Truly humbled by the response to my upcoming book tour,’ Michelle Obama tweeted. ‘I can’t wait to share BECOMING with all of you & hope to see you somewhere along the way!’

Tickets for the London tour have since appeared on Viagogo for thousands of pounds, but the venue has asked for them to be removed, announcing to Twitter: ‘We have asked Viagogo to remove the tickets available on their site. Tickets bought from unauthorised third parties will be cancelled and invalid for entry.’

Well that’s that. Fingers crossed Michelle returns for another tour!
