It’s safe to say that Meghan Markle is the woman of the moment, and from fitting seamlessly into the life of a Duchess to welcoming her first child baby Archie last month, she has to be the most talked-about woman in the world.

Already proving to have as much influence as the Kate Middleton effect, fans and followers are modelling their looks on the Duchess of Sussex, crashing a Canadian fashion site to buy her engagement coat, styling their hair in the MM cut, and even asking cosmetic surgeons for the Meghan Markle nose.

This week her words about pet adoption are going viral, with the Duchess using her title for good, urging people to support the Mayhew animal welfare charity in any way that they can, a community of which she is patron.

‘As a proud rescue dog owner, I know from personal experience the joy that adopting an animal into your home can bring,' she wrote in a foreword for the charity. ‘The role that we, as people, play in rehoming and rescuing these animals is vital, but the role of organisations such as Mayhew is unparalleled.’

She continued: ‘What initially struck me about Mayhew specifically is their community based approach not simply on rehoming animals, but in the preventative care that inhibits these cats and dogs from ending up in shelters in the first place.

‘The choice to adopt a pet is a big decision that comes with much responsibility but infinite return on investment. It will undoubtedly change your life.’

Like we needed another reason to love Meghan Markle!
