Move aside Gwyneth and Chris…

Chris Pratt made headlines this week, as he announced his engagement to Katherine Schwarzenegger, popping the question after just seven months of dating.

‘Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes!’ The actor posted to his Instagram alongside a photo where Katherine is showing off her new sparkler of a rock. ‘I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!’

Following the speedy engagement, fans were quick to think of Anna Faris, his ex wife of eight years, who he split from in 2017.

Both Anna Faris and Chris Pratt have spoken publicly about the pains of divorce, but the Just Friends actress proved how much she had moved on this week, immediately posting a supportive comment on Chris’ engagement announcement.

‘I’m so happy for you both!!’ Anna commented on the snap. ‘Congratulations!’

The former couple have spoken in the past about the work they have put in to co-parent their son Jack amicably, with Anna even discussing it in an episode of her podcast, Unqualified.

‘Chris and I work really hard ‘cause we have Jack, that is sort of the long game idea and making sure Jack is really happy, which makes us really happy,’ she explained. ‘We have sort of the luxury of circumstance. You know, we are both in other loving relationships. … But It’s like, how do you not in general sink into a place of bitterness?’

Chris has also spoken about it, recently telling E! Entertainment: ‘Divorce sucks. But at the end of the day, we’ve got a great kid who’s got two parents who love him very much.

‘And we’re finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to one another. It’s not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better.’

Congratulations Chris and Katherine, and Anna, we will forever bow down to you for your classy response.
