Nicole Farhi launches the NF City Zoo art project

The animal-art installation coming soon to a window near you

Nicole Farhi has long been known for her whimsical way with prints and now she’s taken her artistic leanings to a whole new level with the launch of the NF City Zoo project.

She’s collaborating with upcoming artists by exhibiting their work in store and integrating it into window designs – and May sees giant wire animals by Milanese sculptor Benedetta Mori Ubaldini stomp into the frame.

At each of Farhi’s 7 London stores, mannequins will be set in grassy, dreamlike scenes next to unlikely combinations of animals including chimps, a giant bunny, donkeys and a giraffe.

Mori Ubaldini creates her pieces from flat chicken wire, which she manipulates by hand to give a seamless appearance with no internal structure.

And once you’ve had splurged on a little something from Nicole Farhi’s bright, breezy summer collection, you can treat yourself to a work of art as well – the sculptures will be up for sale when the ‘zoo’ closes in mid June.
