John Galliano Returns To Fashion As Creative Director Of Maison Martin Margiela

John Galliano's next move is confirmed...

John Galliano’s return to fashion has been confirmed. The position? Creative Director at the famously faceless French house Maison Martin Margiela.

‘Margiela is ready for a new charismatic creative soul,‘ Renzo Rosso, president of MMM’s parent company Only The Brave said this morning. ‘John Galliano is one of the greatest, undisputed talents of all time – a unique, exceptional couturier for a maison that always challenged and innovated the world of fashion. I look forward to his return to create that fashion dream that only he can create, and wish him to here find his new home.’

Dismissed by Christian Dior in 2011 after 15 years as artistic director, Galliano’s debut at the helm of Margiela is expected to be in January at Paris Couture Week.

The Margiela brand has operated as a design collective with no lead name since the departure of the reclusive founder Martin Margiela in 2009.
