The French First Lady has confirmed that she's expecting
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has finally confirmed the news the world knew – that she and husband Nicholas are expecting their first child.
The French First Lady has remained schtum on her upcoming arrival, despite her father-in-law telling the world back in May that a baby Sarkozy was on the way.
Now, she has finally spilled the beans to newspaper Nice-Matin, saying her pregnancy is ‘coming happiness, unexpected and unhoped for.’
As for rumours she’s having a boy, she stated: ‘That, I don’t even know myself. There are certain things which one should keep secret.’
Still remaining coy, she would not reveal when she was due, and revealed she had kept the happy news quiet ‘primarily to protect me, not to reveal my private life.’
This will be the second child for the former model who has a ten-year-old son, Aurélian, from a previous relationship.
The French President has three sons from two previous marriages, aged between 13 and 25.
