The 45-year-old Luther actor proposed to his model girlfriend Sabrina Dhowre on Saturday, popping the question in front of an audience of fans.
Celebrating his directional debut, Yardie, Idris and his girlfriend made an appearance on-stage at the film’s screening in East London’s Rio Cinema. And while Idris was expected to say a few words at the event, he surprised everyone - especially his girlfriend - when he got down on one knee in front of the packed auditorium.
Video footage of the proposal has been circulating the internet, showing Sabrina saying yes (obviously) and the couple kissing, met by loud applause by the startled crowd.
In case there was any doubt, the cinema then went on to confirm the news, taking to Twitter to announce the engagement.
'Another @riocinema first,' they tweeted. 'Still 5 days to Valentines Day but @idriselba went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend live on stage this morning before a preview of his film.'
