Now that we are well and truly getting into the swing of spring/summer, it's time to make sure your workwear wardrobe is up to date, too. Off come the layers of jumpers and heavy coats: bring on a bit of leg and lightweight coloured fabrics. YAY. We all can safely agree our work wardrobes get worn to death, so your office clothes tend to need updating every season. But where to start? Handily, we've compiled your head-to-toe workwear destinations, so you know just where to go on the high street for what.

Get Your Midi Right

With the sun shining we are thrilled we can finally lose our (now very bobbly) tights and flash a bit of skin (in moderation at the office, of course). We are heading straight to Jaeger this season for the perfect midi skirt with a trend-led edge. Sitting at the higher end of the high street, Jaeger offers amazing investment pieces for your wardrobe that are super on-trend. It's nailed all of our fave SS15 trends for skirts: the blush colour, the A-Line, the trench button-down and the suede skirt; plus classic leather and wool styles. If you are making a workwear splurge, this should 100% be the one!

A Trusty Staple That Will Never Go Out Of Style

The white shirt: it's the wardrobe classic we've relied on since our first interview, and nostalgia refuses to let it go. Reinvent a classic slim-fit with a few simple modern tweaks (because nothing says snooze like a full-length sleeve and buttoned-up cuffs).

A choice from Topshop is fail-safe: it manages to bring out a different style every season that strikes just the right balance of class and cool. We're obsessing over this oversized panelled shirt which offers a less formal feel, plus we guarantee you'll wear it at the weekend too. Simply team with a pair of raw-edge denim jeans and you're set. This season we've also spied Topshop's work-appropriate shirt-dresses and amazing buckled shirts, so whether you are a girly girl or you prefer a more masculine vibe, there's something to suit every style.

Fashion Flat First

No longer just the style we keep under our desks for when the going gets tough, now you can wear them all day every day and still look chic. Make your flat statement by opting for a colour or print. For chic, elegant styles that will flatter your outfit, we always go to Russell & Bromley. From block colour to print, round toe to pointed, loafer to brogue, it has every style imaginable: pure shoe heaven! This season, we're obsessing over the gladiator sandal. Why not adapt it to your workwear look with these amazing lace-up-the-leg gold and leopard flats. It's time to (gladly!) say goodbye to running around in heels 9-5: all hail the fashion flat.

Keep Your Outerwear Cool

Of course it has to be Zara that not only seems to nail every one of our favourite trends each season; it also gets it spot on for workwear too, with long lines and grown-up shapes. We hardly go anywhere else other than Zara when it comes to our jackets, with styles that span trench coats, leather jackets and bombers, there's something to suit everyone. This season's must-have shape for work has to be the long-line waistcoat to give you a super-chic, tailored look. So for something that looks really expensive (but isn't, hurrah!) then this is one of your top workwear destinations.

Put A Spring In Your Step With A Printed Dress

Want to get in on the fash pack's workwear secret? It's simple. Whistles. Despite the fact you may think we spend hours in the mirror styling our workwear outfit every day, we seriously don't. We just buy amazing fashion-led pieces from one of our favourite high-street stores. We are especially in love with Whistles for its workwear dresses, every season they bring out new, stunning prints that they finely smother over asymmetric demure dresses that are perfect for the office. Not only are they ideal for work, team with a cool sandal and they'll see you though the weekend too. The only problem you'll face is trying to resist buying everything else in store!

Our Leggy Weapon Of Choice

There's no better way to sass up your workwear look than with a lairy printed trouser, and we are in love with this pair. Reiss is another of our favourite high-street hero stores for office attire with an edge, and we've spotted the work trouser to die for! A printed pant is our secret weapon for bringing a bit of life to your daily look without trying too hard. Find a pair that fit perfectly and you won't want to take them off. We love the way Reiss has styled these floral straight-legs with an oversized blazer to give a more androgynous vibe. For something a little more summery, a simple grey tee will also tone them down. To take your trouser through to after-work drinks, sling on a sassy heel and carry an oversized clutch: hello, wine o'clock!

Be The Power Dresser

To be the office style queen, every woman needs a power suit. It's been a workwear staple that we have worn for decades, but it's time to side-step safe and boring black and up your two-piece game with something a little more stylish. For this we rely on J Crew, which always offers style over fashion. We love this white version for spring; but if it's too out of your comfort zone, we recommend its navy pinstripe colourway for something a little more clerical. Team with a simple court shoes, or for that cool-girl edge, we're wearing ours with a white trainer.
