Cheryl Cole taps Penelope Cruz's Oscar style for X Factor fashion fix
Cheryl Cole has been pulling out all the sartorial stops for her latest string of X Factor outings, and so it shouldn't come as a surprise that she tapped an Oscar winning look for Saturday's show.
For her stint in the judge's seat, Mrs C slipped into an Atelier Versace asymmetric white dress, but she wasn't the first to snap up the Grecian goddess gown.
Penelope Cruz gave the design its red carpet debut at Hollywood's biggest night of the year - the Academy Awards.
As the night's best actress winner, all eyes were on the Spanish beauty, who slipped into the floor-skimming number to hit the Vanity Fair after party, switching from the voluminous Balmain gown she wore to collect her award.
And though the dress might be the same, the starlets gave the look their own signature spin.
For Oscars' lady of the hour, this meant teaming the show-stopping gown with a neat chignon, and classic diamond stud earrings. Simple, but oh-so-chic.
Meanwhile, the Girls Aloud made it all about the hair, piling her tumbling locks atop her head, and wearing them fixed beneath a glittering headpiece. A single face-framing curl was left loose to one side.
