It's an X Factor style snap, as Cheryl Cole and Alexandra Burke go head to head for your fashion favour

Alexandra Burke obviously picked up more than the odd music tip when Cheryl Cole guided her through the X Factor - she clearly gained some wardrobe hints too, as she was spotted this week in the very same nautical sweater as seen on her TV mentor.

Cheryl was the first to snap up the anchor motif top, wearing it for an appearance on Radio 1 back in October.

Teaming it with paint-splattered jeans and a leather jacket, the Girl Aloud loaded up on the accessories, topping off her look with a grey fedora, aviator shades, a gold medallion necklace, a zebra print tote and ankle boots.

Fast forward 6 months, and Alex tapped the grey jumper for, yet again, a radio appearance, this time in Manchester.

Toning down the styling slightly, she opted for blue skinny jeans, navy platforms sandals and a tan snakeskin bag. Like Cheryl, she added a gold pendant necklace and dark shades, but while Mrs C wore her hair in an on-trend side-swept braid, Ms Burke left her locks loose.
