  • Vivienne Westwood bashes Sex and the City movie

She may be the most name-checked fashion designer in the film, but Vivienne Westwood has made it quite clear that she was not a fan of the Sex

    and the City

As the designer of Carrie’s wedding dress, there are multiple mentions of Westwood’s clothes, including a handwritten note from the designer herself, which Carrie is sent alongside her gown.

However, Westwood is obviously not worried about burning bridges with the film’s stylist Patricia Field, as she stated, ‘I thought Sex and the City was supposed to be about cutting-edge fashion and there was nothing remotely memorable or interesting about what I saw.’

Adding insult to injury, she added, ‘I went to the premiere and left after ten minutes.’

Looks like Carrie will have a new designer of choice come the much-rumoured sequel.
