Designer Victoria Beckham has unveiled the latest lookbook for her little sister line Victoria, Victoria Beckham – and the provocative pictures are prompting mixed reactions on Twitter this morning.
Shot by Colin Dodgson, a fashion photographer known for his artistic plays on pose, the images show models limbering-up in front of a letterbox full of tulips, sprawling out over uncomfortable chairs, and passed out on the floor of their retro flat. See all the pictures in the gallery above.
Colin has previously worked with Karl Lagerfeld and Louis Vuitton on ad campaigns (including a cracking shot of Freja Beha Erichson mid-forward roll) and his signature style of raw photography never fails to get people talking.
The collection itself, which drops in stores in July, features voluminous peplum tops, skinny gingham trousers and foil party frocks – a younger aesthetic spun off Victoria’s main eponymous line.
‘Fabrics are played with and re-interpreted in the inimitable VVB style,’ a statement from brand Beckham reads. ‘Leopard print is applied to heavy crepes and blistered silks, checks are applied to angora and bonded with neoprene, gingham is weaved in to a cloque and crystal embroidery is individually shattered and then held together in delicate metallic cases.’
‘Colours are vibrant and strong – shocking pink, electric blue and blood red are set against monochrome black and white – all adding to the strong yet still feminine silhouettes.’
