The footballer loses the football kit to replace David Beckham as the new face of Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans
Cristiano Ronaldo has whipped off his football kit to replace David Beckham in the new Armani Spring/Summer 2010 ad campain.
The footballer flexes his pecs and shows off some serious muscle in the shots for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans.
‘I am very flattered to be asked to represent Armani,’ says Ronaldo. ‘Giorgio Armani is a legend in the fashion world and I have long been a fan of his work.’
‘I am very pleased with the pictures we have done together – they are certainly striking and are full of attitude and a spirit I can relate to.’
Striking is indeed the word…
And Mr Armani seems equally pleased with this new partnership.
‘Cristiano is a great looking young man with the perfect physique of an athlete,’ says the designer. ‘For me, he is the essence of youth – spontaneous, exciting, a real maverick.’
‘It is for his energy that I have chosen Cristiano to become the new face of Armani Jeans and Emporio Armani Underwear – for his youthful, exciting, and yes, sexy attitude.’
The pictures were shot by renowned photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, on location in Madrid.
The Spring/Summer campaign is set for official release in February, so get set to see a lot more of Ronaldo in the coming months.
Phew. We’ve suddenly come over all flushed…
