London's fashion pack came out to party last night for the launch of Gucci's temporary new footwear store
Are you an avid designer footwear fan? Well, next time you’re in London, hot-foot it down to Covent Garden and check out Gucci‘s super-stylish new sneaker store.
London’s most stylish fashionistas were out in force last night to celebrate the launch of the Gucci Icon Temporary store, and get a sneak peek at the fab footwear on display.
After browsing the collection, guests including Mark Ronson, Leigh Lezark and Frida Giannini herself, donned their finest Gucci glad rags and made their way to Ronnie Scott’s to continue the night’s celebration.
The temporary store is the home to the Italian fashion house’s 17-piece limited edition sneaker collection, which is currently jet-setting its way around the globe.
The highlight of the collection is the ‘Gucci Ronson‘ shoe – a trainer designed by Frida in collaboration with man-of-the-moment Mark Ronson.
‘I spent many years as an avid sneaker collector,’ says Mark, ‘so I wanted to make sure these shoes were truly special, both from an aesthetic point of view and a collectable one.’
‘From the moment Mark and I started talking about this project, we connected,’ says Frida.
‘He has a great eye for design and an amazing knowledge of sneaker history. He is an artist whose influence is cross-cultural and cross-generational.’
The collection consists of 15 men’s styles and two women’s designs – all housed in unique packaging designed specifically for London customers.
Whether for work or for play, it’s the only sporting footwear to be seen in this summer – you’ll be the most stylish bunny at the gym.
