Rihanna just caused carnage on the streets of Paris Fashion Week, by showing up in the most diva-fabulous pink silk cape and rocks tar shades to watch the Christian Dior SS16 show. The collection, meanwhile was also a knockout, as designer Raf Simons actually managed to reinvent the squiggly line in 50 new incarnations.
Here’s everything you need to know…
There Was An Epic Front Row
Rihanna was joined by Elizabeth Olsen, Cressida Bonas and Emilia Clarke (as well as her mum and her brother, of course) on Raf Simons’ front row, and brought a bolder is better approach to the style stakes. We LOVE her sass, and also how chuffed to bits her mum and brother are to be there – see all the pictures in the gallery above.
All The Organza
Next spring, according to Dior, will be a dream, with everyone wearing cloud-like, scalloped organza confections as we drift through the season with ease. The wiggly line, it seems, is a must-have, defined in contrasting piping, edging knitwear and dresses alike.
The Patent Accessories
Ladylike pointed Mary-Janes were given the sexy Dior treatment in new season colour blockings and patent finishes. In bag news, there’s a new tote to tout, roomy and practical with considered details.
The Mountain Of Fleurs
SS16 just got seriously pretty. Fashion florist Mark Colle and the show producer Alexandre de Betak built flower mountains both in front of the show space entrance and inside the venue, greeting guests with the most glorious scent of Delphiniums. THIS is what pure fashion smells like, people.
