Female celebrities came out in full force to speak out in favour of women's rights

Victoria Beckham and Lupita Nyong'o were just two of the famous ladies who came out in support of International Women's Day on Saturday.

Here at Marie Claire, we celebrated the day by sharing our #WomenWishes in support of education for girls and women.

Meanwhile, Victora celebrated by tweeting an inspirational quote from an important female role model.

‘When women succeed the world succeeds. When women and girls thrive, entire societies thrive’ @HillaryClinton #IWD2014,' she posted on 8 March.

The former US Secretary of State had her own inspirational woman to credit: 'For #IWD2014, I celebrate the work of Eleanor Roosevelt, a courageous advocate for human rights,' she tweeted. 'Her work continues to inspire. #NoCeilings.'

Gisele Bundchen got in on the lady love, sharing her own message of female empowerment. 'Happy Women's Day! Viva sensitivity and feminine strength,' she tweeted. 'Much love and light to all.'

And Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o took a more visual approach, sharing an Instagram collage of her favourite ladies - including Michelle Dockery, Oprah Winfrey, Cate Blanchett and her own mother.

'Happy International Women's Day #IWD. Thinking about all the amazing women in my life who made #AwardSeason so meaningful and memorable... #Mother #Daughter #Love.'
