The 'delighted' Sophie Dahl is pregnant!

The delicious Ms Dahl is expecting her first child with husband, jazz singer Jamie Cullum

Model Sophie Dahl is expecting her first baby with husband Jamie Cullum, the couple has confirmed.

The duo are said to be 'delighted' with the news they are due to become parents sometime in February.

Sophie and Jamie married in secret last year but celebrated their wedding a luxury hotel in the New Forest in January.

Now Sophie, 32, and Jamie, 31, are expecting their first child.

'In response to a number of recent inquires, Jamie Cullum and Sophie Dahl are delighted to confirm that Sophie is four months pregnant,' reads a statement released by the pair on Friday night.

Model, author and cookery show presenter Sophie met jazz musician Jamie in 2007 when they both performed at a fundraising concert for the Lavender Trust, a breast cancer charity.

Sophie is the granddaughter of acclaimed children's author Roald Dahl and recently presented her foodie show 'The Delicious Ms Dahl', while Jamie is a very successful jazz singer and musician.

He recently performed at the Proms and is about to embark on a world tour to promote his latest album, The Pursuit.

Despite the announcement, don't expect to see pictures of the new parents with their baby in the pages of a celebrity magazine when he or she arrives.

The couple are believed to have turned down a six-figure deal to have their wedding in a magazine and are likely to do the same for their new addition.
