In an attempt to save his marriage, Jesse James is seeking treatment to deal with his issues

In an attempt to save his marriage to Sandra Bullock, Jesse James has entered a treatment facility to seek professional help, after news of his multiple affairs hit the headlines earlier this month.

His representative confirmed the news to People magazine, writing in a statement: 'Jesse checked himself into a treatment facility to deal with personal issues. He realised that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage.'

James has reportedly been in the facility since the 26 March, although the type of treatment he is receiving has not been specified.

His Oscar-winning wife has not been seen in public since the scandal first broke on 15 March. She cancelled two European premieres of The Blind Side, and has remained in hiding since.

Although the initial infidelity allegations were made by one woman - tattoo model Michelle McGee - a further three have come forward claiming to have enjoyed flings with James.

His only comment on the scandal has been via a public apology, in which he stated: 'This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them.'
