Break Free is a powerful short film about struggling with gender identity.
Ruby Rose is huge at the moment. The newest (hottest?) addition to Orange is the New Black has blown up overnight, has massed hordes of fans and is currently one of the most popular celebrity searches on Google.
One reason, we suspect, that people are so taken with the star is her willingness to discuss the very topical concept of gender fluidity. She herself says that she doesn’t identify with anyone gender and she describes herself as ‘gender fluid.’
Last year, the 29-year-old wrote, produced and starred in a short film called Break Free, that explored ‘gender roles, Trans, and what it is like to have an identity that deviates from the status quo.’
It went viral at the time but now, thanks to her newfound mega-fame, it is a full blown triumph, having been watched 5.2 million times at the time of writing this.
