St James's Palace also confirmed Kate Middleton is expecting one baby, not twins

St James's Palace has announced that Kate Middleton's royal baby is due in July.

The Duchess of Cambridge's pregnancy was made public after she was admitted to hospital suffering from severe morning sickness in December.

A spokesperson has confirmed the 31-year-old's condition has continued to improve since she was discharged last month.

In a brief statement, the Palace confirmed: 'Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July.

'The Duchess's condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month.'

Kate's treatment for hyperemesis gravidarum led to press speculation she was expecting twins, as it is more commonly experienced by women having a double birth.

The latest announcement confirms Kate Middleton is expecting only one baby.
