  • The Twilight star has been hitting the studio in his spare time, according to reports

He’s made no secret of the fact that he’d love a career in music, and now it seems Robert Pattinson’s wish could be about to come true.

According to insiders the Twilight star’s been hitting the studio to record some original songs in his spare time, before heading out on the promotional trail for the upcoming Breaking Dawn movie.

No stranger to the music scene, in the past Rob has popped up several small venues to small acoustic sets, and recorded songs Never Think and Let Me Sign, for the Twilight soundtrack.

But now it seems the Twi-star is finally on his way to putting together a whole album, which is rumoured to be ‘like stripped-down Ray LaMontagne meets Van Morrison.’

‘Music is his first love!’ one insider told American magazine Us Weekly. ‘He’s tortured because he avoids it. When he’s sitting around jamming in the studio, it’s his favourite moment of life.’

Another friend added: ‘Rob has been kicking a few original songs around for a long time, but his schedule didn’t allow it.

“Now he’s got some weeks to get everything in line before going back to promoting The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

On the style of Mr Pattinson’s latest venture, the source revealed: ‘The album Rob will make will be guitar based and drums, very organic-sounding, nothing pop. Like stripped-down Ray LaMontagne meets Van Morrison.’

But don’t get too excited, just get. Earlier today Rob’s reps shot down the rumours, telling MTV: ‘He is not working on an album right now.’
