The Breaking Dawn star has revealed he is a massive fan, and would love to stand in on the show in the future
This is something we thought we’d never write. Sedate Sunday evening show The Antiques Roadshow has an unlikely new fan, in the form of the hottest acting property on the planet, Robert Pattinson. And that’s not all. The Breaking Dawn heartthrob has even revealed he loves watching the antique discoveries, and would like to have a go at presenting the show.
Yes, you heard us right. Mr Pattinson has admitted he is a huge fan of the British show - hosted by BBC newsreader Fiona Bruce - and watched it every week when he was a child.
And despite it not being ‘the coolest thing to admit,’ it seems Rob may be happy to turn his hand from acting to presenting, revealing he would ‘love’ to front the show some day.
'I don't think there was a kid back home who didn't watch Antiques Roadshow with their parents on a Sunday night,' R-Patz told the Sun.
'That Royle Family episode where they are all betting on how much the antiques are worth is so true to British life, that's exactly what we used to do.
'I used to love it, I think secretly every kid did, but it's not the coolest thing to admit.'
Revealing true extent of his knowledge of the stuffy family show, Rob added that he loves seeing genuine discoveries, and laughs at the ‘posh people’ who think they have found something special.
'I love the faces of the posh people when they think that something is going to be valued at more than it is, and when it's under they are gutted,' he said.
'I also love the faces of the genuine people who have found something in their loft. When they find out what it is worth they are genuinely delighted and you know it's going to change their life.
'I would love to be presenting the show when some little old dear from Burnley comes in with a genuine Picasso or Rembrandt worth £5million.'
Sunday evenings would never be the same again.
