In an emotional interview Rihanna breaks her silence over Chris Brown and their violent love affair.

R 'n B star Rihanna has spoken frankly about the attack by boyfriend Chris Brown and admits she made a mistake by going back to him.

Rihanna, 21, said that she felt embarrassed that she loved a man who could raise his hand to a woman, and admitted that it was wrong to go back to him after he had attacked her. The R 'n B singer now says she realised that she gave the wrong message to fans who might be in a violent relationship by going back to Chris Brown after the assault.

Speaking on ABC's Good Morning America, Rihanna said, 'I fell in love with that person - that is embarrassing. That's the type of person I fell in love with, so far in love, so unconditionally that I went back.'

But realising that she's changed and moved on, Rihanna added, 'I am strong. This happened to me. I didn't cause this, I didn't do it. This happened to me and it could happen to anybody.'

Shocking pictures were leaked on the internet of Rihanna's face left battered and bruised after an argument with Brown as they were returning from a pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles. The singer said of the leaked photos, 'It made it really difficult. I just felt, oh my God, here goes my little bit of privacy. The whole world knowing.'

Shortly after the attack Rihanna went back to Chris Brown and was seen partying with him at P Diddy's beach house in Florida.

Soon after Rihanna finished with Chris and he was sentanced to six months community service, 12 months of domestic violence counselling, five years probation and a restraining order which requires him to stay at least 100 yards from Rihanna for five years.
